The Retreat & Workshop

La Poterie Writers' Retreat & Workshop is designed for fiction writers seeking:

 

  • an inspiring place, away from home, to work on a fiction project in-progress

 

  • a positive and communal environment in which to receive constructive feedback (maximum eight participants)

 

  • individual feedback and coaching from an experienced writer and teacher, and an experienced literary agent

 

  • time and space to allow your creativity to bloom

 

  • a memorable travel experience—wine, gastronomy, history—in France's Vallée du Loir, 2 hours southwest of Paris by train

 

 

Faculty Bios

KRISTEN HARNISCH drew upon her extensive research and her experiences living in San Francisco and visiting the Loire Valley and Paris to create the stories for THE CALIFORNIA WIFE (HarperCollins Canada & She Writes Press, 2016) and her first novel, THE VINTNER’S DAUGHTER (HarperCollins Canada & She Writes Press, 2014). Kristen, an award-winning, internationally-published author, is a regular contributor to Writer's Digest online, and presents at writing conferences throughout the U.S.. Prior to her career as an author, Ms. Harnisch served as a relationship manager for JPMorgan Chase in New York and San Francisco and the Director of Retail Sales for Citizens Bank in Boston. She currently resides in Connecticut with her family.

APRIL EBERHARDT, a self-described "literary change agent” and author advocate, is passionate about helping authors identify and tell their truest story. She works closely with authors to formulate, edit and polish their manuscripts before publication. Her true love is fiction, both novels and short stories. After 25 years as a corporate strategist and consultant, April saw strategic opportunity to play a role in the changing world of publishing. April advises and assists authors in choosing the best path to publication based on their personal goals and objectives. In addition to one-on-one consulting, she speaks at conferences worldwide, and advises startups serving indie authors. April divides her time between San Francisco, New York and Paris.

TOTAL FEES: $3100

 

Includes workshop fees, seven nights' lodging in private room, three gourmet meals per day, including wine, and local excursions. Transportation to/from La Poterie is not included.
